Suzuki Talent Education is a music education method developed by Dr Shinichi Suzuki in Japan. It is based on his strong belief that

‘Music ability is not an inborn talent but an ability which can be developed.
Any child who is properly trained can develop musical ability just as all children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue.
The potential of every child is unlimited.’

Suzuki Talent Education combines a music teaching method with a philosophy which embraces the total development of the child.

Dr Suzuki's guiding principle is

‘Character First — Ability Second’

Our Mission

Suzuki Music Education Queensland in association with the Suzuki Talent Education Associations of Australia embraces the Suzuki Method of teaching music to children – a method which encourages the total development of the child.

We believe that in an environment of loving support fostered by the Suzuki Method, children can develop a lasting enjoyment of music, as well as patience, persistence, confidence and self motivation, making those children better people for a better future.
